The short version

RxScan keeps everything on your phone. Nothing is uploaded, collected, or shared. We do not see your data — ever.

What RxScan stores, and where

RxScan stores your medication details (names, strengths, instructions, schedules), photos of medication labels you scan, your name and date of birth (used only to check that a scanned script belongs to you), and your dose history. All of this is stored only on your device, in the app's private storage. Label reading (OCR) happens entirely on your device using Apple's built-in Vision framework. No image or text leaves your phone.

What RxScan does not do

• No accounts, no sign-in.
• No analytics, tracking, or advertising of any kind.
• No data is transmitted to us or to any third party.
• No cloud sync or backup by RxScan itself. (Your own iCloud device backup may include the app's data, under your Apple account and Apple's privacy terms.)

Permissions

RxScan asks for camera access (to scan labels), photo library access (to read a label from a photo you choose), notifications (dose and review reminders), and calendar access (to add dose events you approve). Each permission is used only for that purpose and can be revoked any time in iOS Settings.

Deleting your data

Delete any medication in the app, or delete the app itself — all RxScan data on the device is removed with it.
